The Looscan Neighborhood Library, as we know it today, first opened its doors in September 2007. It replaced an older structure dating back to 1956 that could no longer contain the community’s thirst for knowledge. You see, the previous library saw a staggering 61,000 visitors in 2005 alone. It was clear a larger space was needed. The new Looscan Neighborhood Library is more than double the size of its predecessor. It boasts an impressive collection of over 60,000 books.
