Within these walls, LOOM isn’t just a space. It is a canvas for the near future. Here at LOOM, the boundaries of art, work, and imagination blur.
LOOM may appear as a private white cube. Inside, visitors can find solace with an artwork by appointment. It offers a unique experience of isolating oneself for contemplation.
LOOM might transform into a shared office. Individuals reserve spaces to spend a few hours working together. It promotes collaboration and shared creativity.
LOOM could also become a playground for design ideas. It explores all their potential applications. The space fosters innovation and experimentation.
Mostly, LOOM is always becoming. It is an undefined space. A possible object and an unexpected person might meet here. They connect for a brief moment in time.
Na Kim’s interest in “space” inspired LOOM. Moving between Korea and Europe, she noticed how bodies adapt to uncertainty. Environmental change brings solitude. The mind often wanders to memories. In 2021, she moved to Berlin and wanted to create a work environment. She wanted different perspectives on space to intermingle.
Conventional studios showcase personal struggles. They reveal thought processes and works-in-progress. LOOM functions as a transparent layer. It makes visible the circulation of ideas and completed works. It facilitates new interactions.
LOOM structures its activities like a book. It organizes its output into three sections. These are Chapter, Bookmark, and Appendix. Chapters feature exhibitions, gatherings, and public events. The Bookmark showcases the daily existence of the space. It marks pages in LOOM’s ongoing story. The Appendix allows individuals to schedule private experiences. They become part of the growing supplementary information. During Appendix sessions, a curated playlist enhances the atmosphere. A recommended booklist complements the experience.
LOOM is located at Lindenstr. 91, 10969 Berlin. It is a place where the future is not just imagined. It is actively created. It is a space where possibilities are woven together.
