From a former quarry rose Lochburn Park. Imagine a landscape transformed. This Maryhill gem wasn’t always a football pitch. It once echoed with the clang of picks and shovels. The ground was a busy quarry. It held the foundations of today’s Lochburn Park. The Kelvin Dock Curling Club once called this spot home. Then came Maryhill F.C. They’ve played here since the late 19th century. Lochburn Park became their steadfast home. It’s been their ground since 1897.

Lochburn Park isn’t just a football pitch. It’s a story of resilience. It’s a testament to local pride. It’s a place where history is written on the turf. Local businessman Freddie Duda poured £700000 into Lochburn Park. He upgraded it in the late 1980s. His investment transformed Lochburn Park. Floodlights blazed across the night. A seated stand offered comfort. A gym and sauna were added too. Lochburn Park rose from a humble beginning. It became one of the most developed junior football grounds in Scotland.

More teams have shared the field at Lochburn Park. BSC Glasgow played there between 2014 and 2016. Clydebank F.C. even shared it during renovations at Holm Park in 2018-19. Lochburn Park witnessed a huge upset too. Drumchapel United defeated F.C. Edinburgh 1-0 in a Scottish Cup match. This victory in 2022 became a local legend. It’s a story whispered from generation to generation.

Lochburn Park is more than a stadium. It’s a community hub. It’s a place where memories are made. It holds the heart of Maryhill’s football spirit. It is surrounded by light industrial units. It has only one access point. Its sunken pitch offers a unique perspective on the game. The stadium holds 1800 people. Only 205 seats are available though. This historic ground continues to write its story. It is a testament to a rich past and a bright future. This is Lochburn Park. This is Maryhill’s legacy. Come. Let’s explore it together.
