Here stands Living Faith Community Church a beacon of faith. It aims to transform New York City with the Gospel. Let’s dive into its story.
Living Faith Community Church started with a vision. Stephen Ro had this vision while serving at a Korean church. He wanted to take the church into the city. This would happen through church planting. His movement would mirror the city’s diverse people. It would show God’s welcoming nature too.
The first worship service happened on February 13 2000. It took place at Flushing High School. Over twenty years later Living Faith Community Church keeps moving forward. It holds onto that original vision. Today the church has three congregations. These congregations serve different neighborhoods. They also serve different language groups in Queens.
Living Faith Community Church partners with other churches. These churches share similar values. Together they plant more churches. They spread their gospel throughout the borough.
Living Faith Community Church seeks balance. This balance involves identity life and work. The goal is to remain faithful in all areas of life. This faithfulness comes from God’s teachings. All people are welcome here regardless of background. The church hopes you will seek God with them. They want everyone to love Him more deeply.
Living Faith Community Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America. Every Sunday the community gathers for worship. The service starts at 10:30 AM. It takes place at 43-29 162nd St 1st Floor Flushing NY 11358. The church encourages in-person attendance. Online streaming exists for those with health concerns. Living Faith Community Church confesses many beliefs. They believe in one God. This God exists eternally in three persons. These persons are the Father Son and Holy Spirit. God is perfect in love and holiness. He created everything. He deserves all glory and adoration.
God reveals himself through creation. He supremely revealed himself through his Son. The Holy Spirit inspires human words. These words are in the Scriptures. The Scriptures are the Word of God. They are authoritative and without error.
God created humans in his image. He made them male and female. Adam and Eve lived in fellowship with God. They were to care for and govern creation. Men and women have equal access to God through Jesus.
Adam distorted God’s image by sinning. This affected all humans. People are now alienated from God. The only hope is God’s love. He can rescue and restore us.
God determined to save sinners. He justifies and sanctifies those with faith. He will one day glorify them. God commands all to repent and believe.
The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ. It centers on his cross and resurrection. Christ died for our sins. He was raised. Salvation is found only in Jesus.
Jesus became human. He was fully God and fully human. He obeyed God perfectly. He was crucified and rose from the dead. He ascended into heaven. He is our High Priest and Advocate.
Christ’s obedience and death paid the debt of all who are justified. Faith alone credits his obedience to us. This justification is free grace. The Holy Spirit applies salvation to God’s people. He regenerates sinners. He unites them with Jesus. Believers are renewed and adopted into God’s family.
Saved people enter God’s kingdom. They receive forgiveness. They desire to glorify God. Good works prove saving grace. Believers are salt and light in the world. They love their neighbors.
God’s new people have come to heavenly Jerusalem. The universal church appears in local churches. The church has a gospel message. It has sacred ordinances. It has discipline and a great mission. Love for God and each other distinguishes it.
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordained by Jesus. They connect to the new covenant. They are God’s pledge and our vows. They anticipate Christ’s return. Jesus will return to judge. The just will enter eternal blessedness. The unjust face punishment. God will be all in all. His people will be enthralled by his holiness.
Living Faith Community Church stands as a testament. It stands as a testament to faith vision and community in New York City.
