How does a church survive a fire, a flood, robberies, and even a hurricane? Right here in Houston, Lifebrook Church stands as a testament to resilience and faith. Once known as Lazybrook Baptist Church, Lifebrook Church has been a part of this community for over six decades. But the journey hasn’t been easy. Imagine the congregation’s shock in 2020 when lightning struck the sanctuary, causing a devastating fire. For two and a half years, services were held in the fellowship hall while they navigated the complexities of insurance and rebuilding. This wasn’t the only challenge Lifebrook Church faced. They also experienced a flood, were robbed twice, and even had a hurricane rip a 7.5-ton AC unit off the roof! But through it all, Lifebrook Church never lost sight of their mission: to reach people where they are and help them grow in their faith. They believe in the power of community and the importance of serving others. While facing their own hardships, they continued to reach out to the community, offering help after storms, supporting local schools, and hosting events for families. Today, Lifebrook Church thrives, a beacon of hope in the heart of Houston. Their story is a powerful reminder that faith, perseverance, and a commitment to community can overcome even the most daunting obstacles.
