This stretch of track, a remnant of the old Frankfurt Waldbahn, lay dormant most of the year. It ran from a special station near Stresemannallee/Mörfelder Landstraße, winding its way past the Waldspielpark Louisa towards Oberforsthaus. The Lieschen-Strecke clung to tradition, utilizing the same single track originally laid in 1889 for steam trams. Electric service on this particular section ceased in 1925 with the advent of the new Niederrad line. Even the Lieschen’s connection to the Frankfurt Stadium disappeared after renovations in 2006.
