Here stands the Lianxiang Bridge. It stretches before us, a testament to modern engineering. This bridge is more than just concrete and steel. It represents connection and progress.

The Lianxiang Bridge in Hunan, China, completed in 2007, serves as a vital highway link. Before it was built, crossing the Xiang River was a longer, more difficult journey. Now, vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists can traverse with ease.

Originally named Xiangtan No. 4 Bridge, it was renamed Liancheng Bridge in June 2006. But some sources know it as the Lianxiang Bridge. The bridge’s construction began on July 1, 2004. It officially opened to traffic on July 12, 2007. The project cost over 452.1 million yuan.

Consider its structure. The Lianxiang Bridge is a half-through arch bridge. The arch span measures 120 meters plus 400 meters plus 120 meters. The bridge is 27 meters wide.

Imagine the construction process. Workers meticulously piecing together the CFST six-pipe truss arch rib. The deck system is a BC.

The Lianxiang Bridge isn’t just functional. It’s also a landmark. It symbolizes Xiangtan’s growth and connectivity. From this vantage point, you can see the flow of traffic. You can observe the people crossing.

The bridge cancelled its entry fees system on June 1, 2016. This change made it even more accessible.

So, as we stand here, let’s appreciate the Lianxiang Bridge. It’s more than just a way to get from one side to the other. It’s a symbol of progress. It is a connection between communities.
