“Who knew a camp could feel so much like home?” someone once said here at Leirikeskus. Leirikeskus is more than just a campsite. It is a place for memories. It is located 37 kilometers from Rovaniemi on the banks of the Kemijoki River.
Imagine this: wide open spaces perfect for outdoor activities and hiking. There is also a swimming beach and great fishing spots. Leirikeskus has it all. On the grounds you will find a frisbee golf course with five baskets. Two outdoor fireplaces invite you to linger. A large lawn offers space for games and fun.
Leirikeskus offers year-round accommodation at affordable prices. Leirikeskus is perfect for camps, excursions, and overnight stays. You can even host parties here. The main building sleeps 55 people in bunk beds. The lower building has space for 13 more people. The main building has three large bedrooms downstairs. Each room has 9-10 beds. Upstairs, there are four smaller bedrooms with 6-8 beds each. The lower building features two spacious bedrooms. One has six beds and the other has seven, all in bunk beds.
The main building has several individual toilets and showers. The lower building has one toilet. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. There is a refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, and stove. You can rent the main building and the lower building separately or together. Pets are allowed in the lower building but not in the main building. The ground floor of the main building is accessible for wheelchair users with an assistant. There is a ramp at the entrance but some low thresholds inside.
The Leirikeskus sauna building was renovated in 2016. It features two showers and a fireplace room. When booking the sauna, the main building has sauna times from 5 PM to 9 PM. The lower building can use the sauna from 9 PM to 11 PM. Remember to bring your own seat covers.
Both accommodation buildings at Leirikeskus have information folders. These contain the camp’s rules and other useful information. You can also contact the caretaker at 040 504 3189 for more information.
The renter is responsible for order and safety during events. They must also obtain all necessary permits. After use, the premises must be returned in the same condition they were received. Cleaning fees will be charged for any unclean premises.
The rental period includes all hours of the booking. The rental price includes VAT. You can cancel your booking in writing up to seven days in advance. Late cancellations will be charged. Rovaniemi Youth Services can cancel bookings due to their own activities or other special reasons. You will be notified of any cancellation at least 30 days before your booking starts.
Local school and daycare groups can use Leirikeskus for free from Monday to Thursday. This excludes holidays and the summer period from June 1st to August 15th.
Leirikeskus offers different rates. The upper building costs 135 euros per day for youth activities in Rovaniemi. Other groups including non-Rovaniemi youth groups and adult groups pay 315 euros per day. Companies and paid events pay 610 euros per day. The lower building costs 85 euros per day for youth activities in Rovaniemi. Other groups pay 190 euros per day. Companies and paid events pay 365 euros per day. These prices were updated in 2024.
