The project was ambitious. It required the creation of sixty ceramic figures. These were manufactured in Lisbon at one of Portugal’s oldest azulejo factories A Viuva Lamego. Di Rosa has a long-standing practice of collaborating with skilled artisans worldwide. This project continues his commitment to diverse artistic techniques and locations. The finished mural is impressive. It measures four meters by ten meters. The artwork was inaugurated on August 31 2017. Lille’s mayor Martine Aubry presided over the ceremony.
