“All scripture is given by inspiration of God” declares the Las Vegas Reformed Presbyterian Church. It stands as a testament to faith in a city known for its dazzling lights and entertainment. The church is a growing body of worshipers. These worshipers consist of believers and their children. They were officially taken under the care of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America in late 2012.
As a part of the RPCNA, the Las Vegas Reformed Presbyterian Church enjoys the supervision and support of the Pacific Coast Presbytery. The Pacific Coast Presbytery is the regional body of churches to which the church belongs. Rev. Edgar Ibarra serves as the pastor. He provides spiritual leadership to the congregation.
The Las Vegas Reformed Presbyterian Church confesses full commitment to the authority of the Bible. They believe it is the inerrant and infallible Word of God. They also confess that the Lord our God is one LORD. The Scriptures teach that He is the Triune God. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one.
This church confesses the total inability of humans to save themselves. People are born in original sin and under the wrath of God. Therefore, salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Christ’s sacrifice was once and for all and perfect to save all who call upon Him for salvation. The church confesses that on the third day He bodily arose from the dead. It is the Holy Spirit that regenerates people and gives them the gift of faith to believe in Him. Humans contribute nothing towards their salvation except their sin.
The Las Vegas Reformed Presbyterian Church confesses Him as their Covenant Lord. They vow together to advance His Kingdom on earth. Their allegiance is to King Jesus. His law for the Christian is the rule for living a sanctified life. The church believes that God desires His Church to set forth clear statements of her system of doctrine. This doctrine can be supported from Scripture.
The Las Vegas Reformed Presbyterian Church service is simple and Word centered. They sing the songs of the Bible, the Psalms, translated into English verse. They confess that the Book of Psalms is the hymnbook that God has given to His Church to use to worship Him. They purposely do not employ musical instruments during service.
Prayer is an important aspect. They pray according to the Scriptures. They adore God and confess sins. They give thanks for mercies received. They also offer up the petitions of their hearts. They give heartfelt attention to the reading of Scripture and to faithful preaching of the Word. The preaching is expository and experiential in nature.
They practice both infant and adult baptism. Only communicant members in good standing in Christ’s Church are given access to the Lord’s Supper.
Las Vegas Reformed Presbyterian Church stands as a beacon of faith. It is a place where the Word of God is central and the community is cherished. It welcomes all who seek to know more of Christ.
