Beyond the bustling streets of Bandra lies Land’s End. It is a place where the city meets the sea. Are you ready to uncover the secrets of this iconic location?

Land’s End marks the southernmost tip of Bandra in Mumbai. It is known for being home to several Bollywood actors. Properties here rank among the most expensive globally. Shahrukh Khan is one of its notable residents.

Back in 1640, the Portuguese built Castella de Aguada. This fort is also known as Bandra Fort. It served as a watchtower. It overlooked Mahim Bay, the Arabian Sea, and the southern island of Mahim. Imagine the soldiers standing guard. They watched for any approaching threats.

In 1850, Sir Byramjee Jeejeebhoy, a Parsi businessman, bought Land’s End. He spent his fortune developing the area. He built a road connecting Land’s End to Bandra. This road is now known as Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Road. He also constructed a promenade and sea-facing wall. In 1865, he built his residence atop the hill. He lived there with his son.

Today, the Taj Lands End hotel is a famous landmark here. It offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. The hotel is close to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and Mount Mary’s Church.

As you stand here at Land’s End, feel the sea breeze. Listen to the waves crashing against the shore. Think about the history that surrounds you.
