Ever dream of finding a beach that feels like your own secret? That is Laem Ka Beach in Phuket. It is a hidden gem mostly known by locals.
Laem Ka was closed to the public some years back. This was because they were constructing a new hotel. The location of the hotel is superb.
Now, I will lead you to Laem Ka. If you are coming from Rawai, drive towards the Shell Museum. Look for a 7-Eleven store opposite the entrance to Rawai Temple. Drive about one kilometre past the store. You’ll pass through coconut plantations to the carpark area. A steep concrete staircase leads down to Laem Ka Beach. I suggest wearing comfortable shoes for the walk down.
What makes Laem Ka so special? It is the only eastern-facing beach in southern Phuket. Here, visitors can swim. The waters are shallow and calm. This makes it very safe for kids to play. Adults can enjoy some quality time by the sea. Laem Ka Beach is perfect for family outings.
Small shops sit on the right side of the beach. Here, visitors can do some beach shopping. Beach chairs sit under the palm trees. You can chill and enjoy the tranquility here. Sip fresh coconut water, beer, or soft drinks. Vendors sell them here.
Laem Ka is perfect for taking lovely pictures. It features a pristine background. Smooth white sand and calm blue waters complete the scene.
Sometimes there might be no vendors. This can happen during the low season. If so, consider visiting Laem Ka Noi Beach. It is Laem Ka’s sister beach. It is a perfect plan B, especially if you need a meal. The water is also calm and perfect for swimming at Laem Ka Noi. However, watch out for submerged rocks here.
The rocks make it harder for jet skis and parasails to pass. This means that you can enjoy peace and quiet. Take a quick nap or walk on the big rocks.
Laem Ka Noi Beach is also great for meals. They have a small restaurant called Laem Ka Noi Seafood. They serve tasty traditional Thai cuisines. The restaurant also has picture-perfect views. It overlooks the beach and Koh Lon Island.
Both Laem Ka and Laem Ka Noi are very peaceful. They are perfect for picnics and family time. They are great for swimming, splashing, and sunbathing. They also provide some alone time for yourself.
The striking rocks in the water and the sandy areas are great for selfies. Laem Ka Beach is a dreamy beach. It is worth the trouble to get here. So, are you ready for your unforgettable selfie?
