In June 1923, a shower of rocks greeted Reverend Homero Crisman. He fled across the Rumichaca bridge, seeking refuge in Ipiales. He found it with Teófilo Mera, a photographer. Mera and his wife, Raquel, became the first converts of what would become La Alianza Con Pasion Por Columbia. La Alianza Con Pasion Por Columbia is part of a global movement of over 12 million Christians. La Alianza Con Pasion Por Columbia’s core belief centers on Jesus as the sole path to salvation. This belief echoes throughout their sermons and community outreach. The movement spread rapidly through Colombia. In 1930, it reached the coastal town of Tumaco with Reverend Emanuel Prentice. Later, it found a home in Armenia, thanks to Reverend Clyde and his wife, Ruth. Meanwhile, in Nariño, a Catholic priest even wrote a letter expressing his disillusionment with his faith and desire to join the Evangelical Church. He longed for the truth he found within La Alianza Con Pasion Por Columbia. In the 1940s, La Alianza Con Pasion Por Columbia achieved a historic milestone. They opened the Instituto Bíblico Ambachico. This institute trained indigenous people from the Páez, Guambiano, and Nasa tribes for ministry. This period also saw the translation of the Bible into Páez and Guambiano. Tragedy struck in 1950. A mob attacked Campohermoso, killing Reverend Martinez and two other believers. Despite this, the movement persevered. By the 1960s, La Alianza Con Pasion Por Columbia thrived in Bogotá. It underwent significant administrative changes, reflecting a shift in leadership. The 1970s saw the construction of a new seminary in Cali, further strengthening their educational foundation. La Alianza Con Pasion Por Columbia shifted its focus to urban centers, including Cali and Medellin, during the 1980s. This move aimed to reach more people and establish churches with better resources. The 1990s were a time of administrative restructuring and financial stabilization. The early 2000s posed a difficult test for the church. But the younger generation of pastors, trained in the previous decade, navigated this challenge through thoughtful dialogue and leadership. The 2010s marked a period of expansion, with missionaries sent to Guinea, Leticia, and the Awá community. Today, La Alianza Con Pasion Por Columbia boasts over 25,000 members, 400 pastors, and 320 locations. They continue to spread their message of faith and salvation through Jesus Christ.
