Since 1977, L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre has been perfecting the art of improvisation. It inspires and trains talent of all ages. The theater develops and nurtures talent through rehearsals and weekly live performances.

L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre creates a supportive community for performers. It is a safe environment of trust, growth and freedom. Performers showcase their individual talent in a group dynamic.

Kent Skov founded the L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre in 1977. He worked with Del Close and Second City founder Paul Sills. Kent also worked with academy award directors. These included Marty Pasetta, Lou Horvitz and Don Mischner. Kent Skov trained Will Ferrell, Matthew Perry and Josh Groban.

The L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre has a rich history. In 1985, “Mad Movies with the L.A. Connection” premiered. It was a nationally syndicated television series. In 1994, “Movie Madness Mystery With the L.A. Connection” was nominated for a Cable ACE Award. This was for Best Comedy Special.

L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre moved to a brand new 84-seat theater in Burbank, CA in 2016. CBS picked L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre as one of the top comedy theaters in 2017. Burbank.com picked L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre as Best Live Theatre in Burbank in 2021.

L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre offers shows for everyone. There is Comedy Improv for KIDS by KIDS. There is also Comedy Improv for KIDS by TEENS. You can watch Rotating Rookie Teams. Rotating JV Teams perform as well. See “2001 An Improv Odyssey” or Consensual Emu.

The L.A. Times calls L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre “Best Bets”. L.A. Weekly calls it “Pick of the Week”. The Daily News gives it five stars. KABC TV calls it one of the top three comedy clubs. CBS TV also recognizes it as one of the top comedy clubs.

The L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre has partnered with many corporate clients. These include NBC, Toyota and Xerox. They also include General Electric, Disney and Universal. Others are Northrop, Edison and Yoplait Yogurt.

L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre continues to expand. It creates opportunities for professional and amateur performers. They love to teach, perform, laugh and love improvisation. L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre is a hub for comedic talent.
