Carved from the very essence of Ghana’s Ashanti Region, Kwabre East unfolds just 14.5 kilometers northeast of Kumasi. This Municipal District, established in 1988, wasn’t always Kwabre East. It rose from the former Kwabre Sekyere District, taking its place on the map.
Kwabre East Municipal District covers 246.8 square kilometers, a small but significant part of Ashanti’s landscape. The Municipal District is nestled within the buzzing hub of the greater Kumasi City Region. This vibrant region encompasses the sprawling Kumasi Metropolitan Area and its neighboring districts. Kwabre East is a thread in this rich tapestry of communities. It is bordered by Sekyere South District to the north, Kumasi Metropolitan Area to the south, Ejisu Municipal to the southeast, Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal to the west, and Offinso Municipal to the northwest.

It’s a place teeming with life as 296,814 people call this Municipal District home. 143,684 men and 153,130 women contribute to the unique rhythm of this place.
