Here at Badenstedter Strasse 56, in Hannover, the K\u00f6rting story began. Two brothers, Berthold and Ernst K\u00f6rting, rented a small office and space near Hanover Central Station. It was November 1, 1871. Berthold managed the business, and Ernst handled the technical side. They started with just two workmen. Their first success was developing and patenting an early injector.
By 1872, K\u00f6rting rented a factory on Celler Street. It had two small buildings and a 12-horsepower steam engine. Forty-one workers produced injectors, jet pumps, and condensers. The Fusch family joined K\u00f6rting in 1904 through marriage. Today, the K\u00f6rting company remains in the K\u00f6rting/Fusch family ownership. Throughout the 20th century, K\u00f6rting refined its core expertise. Flow devices like ejector pumps and industrial burners became more sophisticated. Motor and turbine engineering declined.
