Don’t let the rocks intimidate you though. Kokkina Beach, sometimes called Jordan Beach by the locals, offers a different kind of beach experience. Yes, the rocky shoreline means you might want to wear water shoes. But those same rocks create incredible underwater formations that are perfect for snorkeling and diving. The water here is crystal clear, offering amazing visibility for underwater exploration. While the beach may be quieter than some of the others on Rhodes, you’ll still find everything you need for a relaxing day by the sea. Sunbeds and parasols are available for rent, and a small bar offers refreshments and snacks. And after soaking up the sun, take a short walk to the former thermal baths of Kalithea. These beautifully reconstructed spa buildings, surrounded by palm and pine trees, offer a glimpse into the area’s rich history.
