A community built on faith. That’s the essence of Koinonia Calvary Chapel Hannover. Standing before this church you feel its history. It’s a story woven from threads of community and devotion.

Koinonia Calvary Chapel Hannover isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to the power of shared belief. Its roots trace back to the 1970s. A small group of young Christians met. They aimed to spread the gospel particularly among disadvantaged groups. This led to a tearoom ministry on Goethestrasse. Many found faith. Others pursued ministry work beyond Hannover and Germany.

In 1986 this tearoom ministry evolved. It became a church. It moved to its current location on Herrenstrasse. The name Koinonia reflects its core value: fellowship. This reflects the Greek word for community. The connection with the Calvary Chapel movement intensified in the 1990s. In 1992 the church officially joined the international Calvary Chapel network.

Growth presented challenges. By 2007 the church needed more space. For a time services were held in a nearby cinema. However in 2017 additional rooms were rented on Herrenstrasse. This allowed for a return to single services within the church building itself.

Koinonia Calvary Chapel Hannover offers Sunday morning services at 1030 am. Wednesday evening services are at 730 pm. The church is inclusive. It welcomes everyone regardless of background. Translations are provided in English Ukrainian and Spanish. Online access is also available via koinonia-radio.de. So you see the church is not just a place of worship but a vibrant community. It’s a place of learning. It’s a place of support and friendship.
