Another interesting fact about Ko Sirey is the presence of Phuket’s largest sea gypsy community. Located at Laem Tuk-Kae, this community offers a glimpse into a traditional way of life. The muddy seabed around this part of the island makes swimming impossible. However, the opportunity to interact with the Chao Le people and purchase their handicrafts makes it a worthwhile experience.
