Knox Presbyterian Church is a warm fellowship in Kenmore New York. It welcomes all believers. The church makes our community better. It ministers to others in Jesus Christ’s name.
Knox Church holds essential beliefs. It follows the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. These beliefs include the authority of Holy Scripture. They include the worship of the Triune God. They include the saving work of Jesus Christ. They include the establishment of His body.
Originally, it was called Kenmore United Presbyterian Church. Eleven Christians founded Knox in December 1926. They came together in a storefront to worship. In 1968, Kenmore Presbyterian changed its name. It honored the Scottish Reformer John Knox. Knox was a long-standing member of the PCUSA denomination. In 2012, it left to join the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The EPC better fit the church’s commitment. It aligned with theological truth and scripture’s authority.
Knox is devoted to missions and prayer. The church supports many missionaries worldwide. They meet regularly to pray. They pray for the community. They pray for each other. They pray to the Lord. Knox opens its doors to other churches. It welcomes ministries to rent its facilities. This helps expand God’s kingdom.
Knox is anything but quiet. Almost every day, people stream through the building. They work on projects, ministries, and meetings. Located in the heart of Kenmore, Knox is easily accessible. It is involved in community life.
Knox is led by a session. It includes the teaching elder and ruling elders. They meet monthly to lay policy. They discuss church business. They pray over Knox’s members. They make decisions for the future.
Rev. Justin Olivetti has been in ministry for two decades. He has served as a youth pastor. He has been an associate minister. Since 2018, he is senior pastor of Knox. He is a graduate of Moody Theological Seminary in Michigan. He was ordained in the EPC. He is married to Joy. They have four children. Pastor Justin is quirky and easy-going. He is a warm man. He has a heart for God and his people. His hobbies include biking, writing, reading, and video games.
Claudia Brown joined Knox EPC in June 2023 as Music Director. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, this is Claudia’s third music director position within the EPC. Claudia serves full-time. She is an Associate Teaching Professor at the University at Buffalo. She directs UB’s three choirs. She teaches voice lessons. She teaches conducting. She teaches a music psychology course. She teaches private lessons at home. She sings in professional choirs around Buffalo. Claudia enjoys travel and reading fiction. She enjoys journaling and hosting board game nights.
Administrative Assistant Irene Beitz keeps Knox Church’s office humming. She has worked in ministry at various churches. She was in the choir. She was on the board of trustees. She was a treasurer. Irene loves to interact with many people. They come from different walks of life. She finds it interesting and educational. Irene loves to sew and garden. She loves to read and cook.
Knox Church is always busy. It bustles with worship and prayer. Bible studies and special events fill the calendar. You can plug into the walk of faith here. Join adult, teen, and children’s classes at 9:00 am on Sundays. Enjoy fellowship time at 10:00 am.
