In 1998, the housing association WIR decided to renovate its playground. They wanted a special attraction. They decided on a climbing tower. The German Alpine Club, Berlin Section, joined the planning phase. They ensured expert supervision after completion. The Kletterturm Kirchbachspitze was named.

The Kletterturm Kirchbachspitze opened on December 6, 1999. Further expansion with routes continued until spring 2000. Since then, it has been a central Berlin climbing destination.

Children from the area can use the tower during supervised playground hours. But they must learn basic climbing techniques first. They can do this in a climbing course. Members of the Berlin section of the German Alpine Club can also use the tower during opening times. The tower is also used for training events. Climbing meet-ups are also held here.

The Kletterturm Kirchbachspitze stands 12.5 meters tall. It was built in 1999 by Brandt and Schluttig from Cottbus. It offers about 45 routes of varying difficulty. These range from III to IX on the UIAA scale. There are also bouldering opportunities. The German Alpine Club, Berlin Section, manages the tower.

You can find the Kletterturm Kirchbachspitze at Alvenslebenstraße 20. It is in Berlin’s 10783 district.

Use your Apple Watch or iPhone as a fitness tracker for climbing. Your workouts are stored in the HealthKit. This makes them visible in the Health app.

After each session, you will see detailed information about your climbs. You can track the difficulty of routes right from your Apple Watch. Redpoint creates a training plan for you to achieve your next climbing goals.

Please note that the Kletterturm Kirchbachspitze is currently closed. It is closed for renovation work.
