Welcome to the Klee-Monolithen! These four colorful steel sculptures stand in Neuallermöhe. They were created in 2011 by Arthur Boltze and his son Martin Boltze. Arthur Boltze was born in 1932 and died in 2014. His son, Martin Boltze, was born in 1966.

These Klee-Monolithen are more than just art. They invite interaction. You can walk through the arches. The artists intended the Klee-Monolithen to be “usable” in this way.

Notice how the different colors catch the light. The steel forms create bridge-like arches. The Klee-Monolithen stand in a park south of the Gretel-Bergmann-Schule. This school is located at Margit-Zinke-Strasse.

The Bezirksamt Wandsbek purchased the Klee-Monolithen. Arthur and Martin Boltze temporarily displayed the artwork at the City-Center Bergedorf. This was at Kampdeich. The Klee-Monolithen brightened up the area.

Consider the artists’ vision as you pass through the arches. The Klee-Monolithen bring art and interaction together. They connect to Paul Klee’s vision. They offer a unique experience.

The Klee-Monolithen add color and form to Hamburg’s artistic landscape. Take a moment to appreciate this blend of art, architecture, and interaction. They remind us that art can be both visually striking and deeply engaging. The Klee-Monolithen stand as a testament to the Boltze’s creative vision.
