So the whole church was replaced. Richard Paul Reuter designed the Kirche Niederwiesa. Its architectural style is Historismus. The Kirche Niederwiesa is a beautiful example of this style.

The Kirche Niederwiesa is a single-nave structure. It boasts a cruciform layout and romanticized features. Restoration work was done between 1989 and 1995. The exterior is made of plastered quarry stone with sandstone elements. Eckrustika adds to its visual appeal. The recessed choir ends in a three-eighths closure. Buttresses offer support. The west tower has a square base. An octagonal lantern and pointed helmet top it. Open cross-vaulted porticos stand at the north and southwest corners. The main portal at the tower shows Neo-Renaissance forms. Putti adorn the cornices. The door has intricate iron fittings. Small reliefs display the coat of arms. These represent the reaper of Oberwiesa and Justitia of Niederwiesa.
Step inside the Kirche Niederwiesa. You will find a very wide interior. Once, Otto Gussmann of Dresden painted the interior in dark colors. Around 1950, it was painted over in white. A wooden coffered ceiling features a radiant halo. Tendrils decorate the ceiling. Symbols of the Evangelists appear in the corners. Single-story galleries extend on three sides. Above the doors, you’ll see stucco reliefs of the Evangelists.
The original furnishings date back to its construction. They are crafted from dark wood. The sandstone font is simple. A large crucifixion group of French limestone sits on the altar. Bruno Fischer of Dresden created bronze reliefs on the sandstone base. The intricately carved octagonal pulpit shows pilasters. Arched panels display painted prophets by Otto Gussmann.
Richard Kreutzbach built the organ in 1898. It has been reworked several times. The prospect features angels and vases.
The original stained-glass windows show vibrant colors. Georg Müller-Breslau created the depiction of the Lamb of God. It is with the Paradise River between Peter and Paul in the choir.
