Imagine being a part of something larger than yourself. Something that unites people. That’s exactly what Kingwood Church of Christ has been doing here in Houston, Texas, since 1972. Standing before you today is the very place where this unique church was born. They began humbly, meeting first in the home of John and Dalphene Bruton, who had the vision to create a place of worship and community in this growing area of Houston. Through the support of other church congregations and dedicated members, Kingwood Church of Christ quickly found its footing. The community grew, and the need for a larger space became apparent, leading to the church finding its home in the heart of Kingwood in 1975. It was in this very location where the church began its incredible outreach, reaching out to those in need, both at home and abroad. They became known for their unwavering support of orphans and missionary work in Thailand and Venezuela. Over the years, the church has undergone several transitions in leadership, membership, and facilities. They’ve faced various challenges, but what remains constant is their unwavering desire to share their message of salvation and connection with others. Today, with approximately 400 active members, this welcoming church continues to be a pillar of love and support in the community of Kingwood, extending its arms to those in Atascocita, Humble, Porter, and Cleveland. As you stand here contemplating this unique, diverse community, remember the strong bond of faith that unites them all. Kingwood Church of Christ stands before you as a testament to a shared belief, a place where hearts are united in love and service, and a cornerstone of the community it was built upon.
