Cohan an entertainer lived in Kings Point from 1914 to 1920. Sarah Hughes a gold medalist in figure skating was raised in Kings Point. Alan King a comedian and actor also called Kings Point home.
F. Scott Fitzgerald lived in Great Neck. It is said that he modeled West Egg after Kings Point. This was for its epitome of nouveau riche gaudiness.
