Kiesel Guitars, nestled in Escondido, California, boasts a legacy dating back to 1946. Lowell Kiesel initially founded the L. C. Kiesel Company in San Diego, focused on crafting guitar pickups. The company’s journey led them to Gothenburg, Nebraska, where they began manufacturing steel guitars. They returned to Southern California around 1948, eventually settling in Baldwin Park in 1949. The company was renamed Carvin Corporation, a portmanteau of Kiesel’s sons, Carson and Gavin. Mark Kiesel, Lowell’s son, took the reins of the guitar department in the 1970s. He introduced the innovative concept of custom-made instruments, allowing musicians to personalize their guitars. In 2015, Kiesel Guitars emerged as a separate entity from Carvin Corporation. Kiesel Guitars continues the tradition of crafting exceptional instruments, honoring Lowell Kiesel’s vision. Jeff Kiesel, Mark’s son, now serves as Vice President, ensuring the family’s passion for music continues to resonate through each handcrafted guitar and bass. Kiesel Guitars has earned prestigious accolades, including Revolver’s Best of Show award at NAMM for their Vader headless guitar in 2015.
