Khu A Hậu Nghĩa’s story begins as a humble village. Under French rule, it was known as xóm Bàu Trai. It belonged to Hòa Khánh village in Đức Hòa district. Back then, it was part of Chợ Lớn province later Long An province. Imagine a small village amidst rice paddies.
The year 1963 marked a change for Hậu Nghĩa. The province of Hậu Nghĩa was formed. Land was taken from Long An, Tây Ninh and Bình Dương provinces. Bàu Trai was chosen as the provincial capital. It was then called thị xã Khiêm Cường but still part of Hòa Khánh.
Hậu Nghĩa province consisted of four districts. These were Củ Chi, Đức Hòa, Đức Huệ and Trảng Bàng. Khiêm Cường became the center of this new province. It was a time of change and growth.
However, this province was short-lived. After 1975, Hậu Nghĩa province was dissolved. Trảng Bàng district went to Tây Ninh province. Củ Chi district became part of Ho Chi Minh City. Đức Huệ and Đức Hòa became districts of Long An province. The capital Khiêm Cường became Hậu Nghĩa township in Đức Hòa district.
Today, Hậu Nghĩa is a thriving township. It is the district capital of Đức Hòa district in Long An province. The town is divided into two blocks A and B. There are also two hamlets called Gò Cao and So Đo.
In 2010, Hậu Nghĩa was recognized as a grade IV city. This shows its development. The new urban area of Hậu Nghĩa covers 197.2 hectares. It is designed for about 40000 residents. The project includes villas shophouses and social housing. A large investment reflects Hậu Nghĩa’s growth potential.
The Saigontel Hậu Nghĩa project is also located here. It is part of a larger urban development plan. It is located on the bustling 3 Tháng 2 avenue. This project covers 12.36 hectares. It will provide 670 commercial and residential units.
Khu A Hậu Nghĩa is more than just a location. It represents resilience. It shows adaptation and growth. From a small village to a provincial capital and now a modern township. Hậu Nghĩa continues to evolve. Its history is woven into the fabric of the land. It shows the spirit of Vietnam.
