Is this what they mean by “up and coming”? Khan Sen Sok doesn’t look like much now, but trust me, this district is on the move. You see, Khan Sen Sok is one of the newest parts of Phnom Penh. It was only officially established in 2009. Before that, it was a mix of land from Kandal province and a few smaller districts. Khan Sen Sok’s location is key. Situated in the northwest of the city, it’s close to the airport and has plenty of space to grow. That’s why you’re seeing all these new developments popping up, like the AEON Mall and those massive stores like Global House and Makro. Big businesses are catching on to the potential here. But Khan Sen Sok isn’t just about shopping malls and warehouses. The government saw its potential too. They’ve moved several key departments here, including the Departments of Planning, Health, Industry, and Social Affairs, along with the National Bank. It’s like a mini-capital in the making. And where businesses and government go, people follow. More and more people are moving to Khan Sen Sok for affordable housing and a taste of the quieter life, while still being connected to the city center. Trust me, in a few years, Khan Sen Sok will look completely different. This is a district on the verge of something big.
