How about a journey to a district born from administrative shifts? That is Khan Pou Senchey. This is an administrative district in Phnom Penh Cambodia. It is a place shaped by both division and growth.
Khan Pou Senchey’s story starts in 2011. It was formed from 13 Sangkats taken from Khan Dangkao. These included Trapeang Krasang Kouk Roka and Phleung Chheh Roteh. Also included were Chaom Chau Kakab and Samraong Kraom. Krang Thnong Boeng Thum and Kamboul were part of it too. The last ones were Kantaok Ovlaok Ponsang and Snaor.
But the story did not end there. In 2013 Kouk Roka and Ponsang became part of Khan Prek Pnov. Krang Thnong moved to Khan Sen Sok. The administrative landscape kept changing. In 2016 Chaom Chau was split into three Sangkats. Kakab was divided into two parts.
More changes came on January 8 2019. Six Sangkats from Khan Pou Senchey moved to the new Khan Kamboul. These Sangkats were Kamboul Kantaok and Ovlaok. Snaor Phleung Chheh Roteh and Boeng Thum also joined.
Today Khan Pou Senchey is divided into seven Sangkats or communes. There are 75 Phums or villages within them.
Trapeang Krasang is one Sangkat. It contains villages like Aksar Krang and Trapeang Andoung. Prey Doun Sok and Trapeang Tea are also there.
Samraong Kraom is another Sangkat. You will find Chamkar Sbaeng and Trapeang Thong there. Kouk Prich and Tekkhabpanhnhao are also part of it.
Chaom Chau 1 includes Kouk Chambak and Tuol Pongro. Trapeang Rumchek and Chaom Chau 1 are there too.

Chaom Chau 3 has Prey Tea 1 and Prey Tea 2. You can also find Prey Chi Sak and Trapeang Pou.
Kakab 1 includes Kbal Damrei 1 and Chamkar Ovloek 1. Ta Nguon 1 and Ta Nguon 2 are there.
Kakab 2 contains Kbal Damrei 2 and Chamkar Ovloek 2. Prey Sala and Kakab are also part of it.
Khan Pou Senchey is also home to Phnom Penh International Airport. This makes it a gateway to Cambodia.
