“Education activities” declare the sign. But what stories do these walls of Khalid Bin al Walid Boys School hold?

Khalid Bin al Walid Boys School stands as a beacon of education in Salalah. It contributes significantly to the academic landscape of the region. Education in Oman has evolved significantly over the decades. Traditionally, education focused on religious studies and Arabic language.

In the past, learning took place in mosques. These were known as schools. Al Rahil School in Sohar is an example. It was founded by Mahbob bin Al Rahil. Al Baida in Rustaq and Al Darh School in Bahla also served as early centers of learning. Abu Muhammed Al Salimi founded Al Darh School. These schools produced famous scientists and writers. They spread Omani heritage.

Omani leaders recognized the importance of education. In 1935, they built Al Saidia School in Muscat. A branch opened in Salalah in 1936. These schools were for both men and women. In 1940, Al Saidia School in Muscat expanded. It included classrooms and science labs.

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos emphasized education. His first speech included the words “study even under the trees”. He built many schools to encourage education. The curriculum included Quran, mathematics and Arabic. Today, Oman has numerous schools in every region. Qaboos University was established in Muscat in 1986. Several applied science colleges followed. Private colleges and universities also exist. These include Salalah University.

Khalid Bin al Walid Boys School continues this legacy. It prepares students for future challenges. The school is located in Al Jadidah. You can contact Khalid Bin al Walid Boys School at 23 295006.
