Here we stand before Kehilat Ariel Messianic Synagogue a beacon of faith in San Diego. Founded in November 1981 by Rabbi Barney Kasdan and his wife Liz Kehilat Ariel started with just 17 people. Their vision was clear to create a synagogue for followers of Yeshua Jesus.

Today Kehilat Ariel has grown into a vibrant community. Over 110 families form its core. Jews from diverse backgrounds come together here. Non-Jews and intermarried families also find a welcoming space. It is a place where Jewish followers of Yeshua can embrace their heritage. Non-Jews can explore the Jewish roots of their faith.

Kehilat Ariel enriches lives. It creates meaningful Jewish moments for all generations. The central focus is a personal connection with God through His Mashiach. The synagogue is located on a beautiful property in Clairemont a suburb of San Diego.

Rabbi Barney Kasdan has been a guiding force since the beginning. He holds degrees from Biola University and Talbot School of Theology. He also studied at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles. Ordained through the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations UMJC he even served as its President. Rabbi Kasdan has written extensively on Messianic Judaism. He is a frequent speaker both locally and internationally.

Kehilat Ariel embraces its Jewish roots. The community celebrates Biblical Jewish holy days. Sukkot and Passover are observed with joy. Many customs of the Jewish heritage are upheld. It is a way to express New Covenant faith within a Jewish cultural framework.

The Mayim Hayim Resource Center offers Messianic Jewish books. Members can borrow books from the library. Non-members can read in the library. Rabbi Barney Kasdan’s commentaries are among the resources available.

Kehilat Ariel stands with Israel. The community prays for peace in the Middle East. They express confidence in God’s promises for the future. Am Yisrael Chai The people of Israel live.

KA Dance Class is held every Saturday. Participants learn and practice dances used during services. They worship HaShem through dance just like King David. The KA Sisterhood meets for a luncheon.

Prayer Minyan and the Messianic Jewish Institute offer classes. One current class answers Jewish questions about Yeshua. It explores why many Jews follow Yeshua as the Messiah. The Messianic Jewish Theological School of Jewish Studies is directed by Rabbi Elliot Klayman.

Several ministry leaders contribute to Kehilat Ariel. Rome Remigio an Elder mentors men. Frank Rosas has led Torah study groups. Tovik Liberman a native-born Israeli served in the IDF. Marco Martinez plays drums for the KA worship team. They are all actively involved in the community.
