Bishop Joachim Meisner consecrated the Katholische Kirche Maria Konigin des Friedens on December 18 1983. He named it Maria Queen of Peace a fitting title considering the turbulent times. The church became a center for the community a place of solace and celebration for nearly two thousand members.
