Did you know that Kasr-ı Şirin Camii in Pursaklar hosted a unique event? In 2017 young people gathered here for an early morning prayer. This wasn’t just any prayer meeting. It was a special program organized by several organizations including the Provincial Directorate of Religious Affairs. The Provincial Directorate of Youth Services and Sports and the National Education Directorate also participated. The Pursaklar Municipality generously supported the event.
Kasr-ı Şirin Camii itself played a vital role. Its location provided a tranquil setting for this meaningful gathering. The program started with a recitation from the Quran. Following the prayer there was a session of tesbihat. A professor from Ankara University’s Faculty of Theology delivered a lecture. He spoke about the importance of the tesbihat and the significance of purification of the heart.
Afterward a special soup was served. This was a lovely gesture of hospitality. The Provincial Mufti Hasan Izmirli offered prayers for martyrs and the past. He also expressed his gratitude to the participants and the Pursaklar Municipality for their support. This event highlighted the mosque’s role not only as a place of worship. It showcased its importance as a community center promoting religious education and social interaction.
The 2017 event was not an isolated occurrence. The “Gençlerle Sabah Namazı Buluşması” or “Meeting with Youth for Morning Prayer” continued as an annual event.
