Wars destroyed the school in the late Ming Dynasty. Only rubble remained. In 1661 during the Qing Dynasty, Chengdu Fuxue was re-established. It became a leading school in Sichuan. In 1902, Chengdu Fuxue became Chengdu Normal School. Then in 1904, it became Chengdu Middle School.
The school changed its name to Chengdu No. 4 Middle School after the People’s Republic of China was established in 1952. During the Cultural Revolution, the school was again devastated. The school returned to its former name in 1983.
