Alright adventurers gather round! What if I told you the Jimboomba Baptist Church has a story that stretches back to 1949? That is when the first Baptist church was erected in Jimboomba.

The early days of Jimboomba saw a community finding its feet. Thomas Dowse took up land here in 1845. Later Andrew Inglis Henderson operated a sheep and cattle run. The area slowly transformed. A railway line arrived promising prosperity. The Jimboomba Station became a hub for timber.
Amidst this growth the seeds of community were sown. A provisional school was established in 1890 in a hall owned by the Presbyterian Church. This shows a collaborative spirit among different denominations.
In December 1953 Jimboomba built a community hall. The first significant shopping centre was built in 1984. Hills International College commenced construction in 1991 on the former property of Andrew Inglis Henderson.
Now let us focus on the Jimboomba Baptist Church itself. The Jimboomba Baptist Church was officially established in 1995. Before that in 1949 another baptist church was built. In 2020 Rev Scott Rowan led the congregation. The church stands at 23 East Street Jimboomba. No Foundation Stone or Memorial Plaque details are known.
The “Little Brown Church” also played a part in Jimboomba’s history. It served as an interdenominational venue from around 1909 to 1967. The Uniting Church acquired it until 1988.
