Did Jiazhuang station always exist? No. This station, a vital part of Guangzhou Metro Line 7, emerged on December 28, 2023. Jiazhuang station, nestled underground where Nanyun 5th Road meets Kefeng Road in Huangpu District, plays a crucial role in connecting people across Guangzhou. The station’s creation wasn’t instantaneous. Construction began in July 2019 with the enclosure of the site. By September of the same year, the main structure began to take shape. A significant milestone was reached on August 16, 2020, when the second section of the station’s main structure was topped out. The “three powers” transfer, a crucial step before operation, concluded on November 7, 2023. Finally, on December 28, 2023, Jiazhuang station opened its doors to the public as part of Line 7 Phase 2. Looking ahead, Jiazhuang station has a bright future. Plans are underway for an interchange with Line 23. This wasn’t in the original design, but a July 2018 alteration added this important connection. Imagine the increased accessibility and convenience this will bring. So, the next time you pass through Jiazhuang station, remember its journey. From a fenced-off construction site to a bustling transit hub, it stands as a testament to Guangzhou’s growth and forward-thinking vision.
