Jiangtai Lu Station isn’t just a stop on the metro. It’s a crossroads of time, connecting Guangzhou’s past with its vibrant present. The station first opened its doors on September 25, 2010, as part of Line 2. Imagine the excitement as the first trains whooshed into the platforms. Jiangtai Lu quickly became a vital artery for the city. Then, on December 28, 2024, the station expanded its reach. Line 11 joined the network, transforming Jiangtai Lu into a major interchange. This expansion wasn’t just about adding a new line. It was about preparing for the future, for a Guangzhou brimming with even more life and energy. To accommodate the increased passenger flow from Line 11, the original Line 2 station underwent a significant renovation. The old staircases connecting the concourse to the platform were replaced with escalators. A new set of stairs was built in the middle of the concourse. Even a special passenger queuing space was created in the Line 11 concourse. This was designed to manage the transfer of passengers during peak hours, ensuring smooth and efficient movement. Today, Jiangtai Lu Station serves as a gateway to various parts of Guangzhou. It sits at the intersection of Jiangnan Avenue and Jiangtai Road in the Haizhu District. From here, you can easily access key locations like the Jiangnan Dadao South Public Transport Interchange and Xiaoyuan Secondary School. Jiangtai Lu Station is more than just a station.
