Journey with me back to 1953. A small group of families, drawn together by their shared faith, established the Jewish Center of Atlantic Beach. They envisioned a place where their community could thrive. The Jewish Center of Atlantic Beach became the heart of Jewish life in this village. It quickly outgrew its initial space. Today, the Jewish Center of Atlantic Beach stands as a testament to their vision, serving approximately 250 families. The architecture of the Jewish Center of Atlantic Beach is simple but elegant, constructed from sturdy brick. Inside, you’ll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This place isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s about the lives that have been touched within these walls. The Jewish Center of Atlantic Beach has been led by a series of dedicated rabbis. Rabbi Samuel Klibanoff served the congregation for eleven years, leaving a lasting impact. He guided the community through celebrations and challenges. Rabbi Ari Perl followed, continuing the tradition of leadership. Currently, the Jewish Center of Atlantic Beach is under the spiritual guidance of Rabbi Elie Weinstock, supported by Rabbi Simcha Willig and Rabbi Saul Haimoff. The Jewish Center of Atlantic Beach boasts some notable members. Among them are prominent businessmen and philanthropists like J. Ezra Merkin, Ira Rennert, Leonard N. Stern, Max Stern, and Henry Sweica. Even Bruce Blakeman, a well-known politician, is a member of this vibrant community. The Jewish Center of Atlantic Beach stands as a beacon of faith and community. It has witnessed countless lifecycle events, from joyous weddings to solemn memorials. It serves as a place of learning, prayer, and connection.
