New York Covenant opened its doors in July 1998. Just four people started this church. They knew almost no one in the area. Pastor Holder had a powerful vision a New Church for Today’s World. He wanted a church that was authentic and welcoming. He envisioned a place filled with today’s music and the performing arts. He dreamed of a church whose mission was to love God and love those in need. New York Covenant would champion the poor and the oppressed. It would fight for living wages affordable housing and justice.

A new building is in the works. This building will prioritize community. It will include a school a basketball court and a culinary kitchen. There will even be a Starbucks-like space where you can work. A community theater and a recording studio will round out the building.
