Established in 1972 Jersey Village High School stands proudly. It’s the second oldest high school in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. This impressive institution has educated thousands of students. Many notable alumni have gone on to achieve great things. Among them are rapper Paul Wall and actress Lindsey Morgan.
Jersey Village High School serves not just Jersey Village itself. It also serves parts of Houston and unincorporated areas of Harris County. The school’s boundaries extend into the Near Northwest district. Think about the diverse community that makes up its student body. In the 2020-2021 school year nearly 60% of students were Hispanic. Around 12% were Asian and 11% were African American.
The school’s mascot is the Falcon. Its colors are purple and gold. The Falcon is reminiscent of the original Atlanta Falcons logo. Can you imagine the school spirit at a football game? A return to in-person classes in 2020-2021 was met with protests from some teachers. Despite the setbacks the school’s band achieved recognition. In October 2021 it was among four bands advancing from the UIL Area I Marching Band Contest.
