The Jenaplan-Gymnasium Nuremberg isn’t your typical school. Students are divided into Stammgruppen. These are core groups guided by a subject teacher and a social pedagogue. It’s a holistic approach nurturing both academic prowess and personal growth. The school even partners with the ZNL Institute led by brain researcher Professor Manfred Spitzer. Each student has a personal learning coach. This coach provides support and guidance throughout their school journey.

The Jenaplan-Gymnasium Nuremberg operates on a trimester system. At the end of each trimester there are meetings. These involve the learning coach the student and their parents. It’s a collaborative effort ensuring every child receives the attention they deserve. The school day begins at 8 am and typically ends at 4 pm. Fridays are slightly shorter with a 1 pm dismissal.

Originally the school started in a repurposed Quelle building. However due to high levels of pollutants they relocated. For a time the Jenaplan-Gymnasium found temporary residence in the former Pfisterschule. Eventually the school settled into its current location on Herderstrasse in the Schniegling district of Nuremberg.

The Jenaplan-Gymnasium offers a unique educational experience. Students get to choose between French or Latin as a second language starting in the sixth grade. The school also offers an eight-year path to the Abitur. Despite its commitment to Jenaplan pedagogy it’s a fully accredited high school. The school’s history is rich. Its journey highlights resilience and adaptability. It’s a testament to the commitment to providing a unique learning environment. A school that prioritizes both academic excellence and personal well-being.

The Jenaplan-Gymnasium Nuremberg isn’t just a school. It’s a vibrant community dedicated to nurturing future generations. A place where learning isn’t just about textbooks and exams.
