A humble beginning. That’s how the Jeevan Jyoti Ashram started. It all began at a seminar in 1995. Brother Thomas Paul a prominent preacher had a vision. He asked for prayers for a Renewal Centre in Delhi. This was the seed for Jeevan Jyoti Ashram.
The Jeevan Jyoti Ashram in Delhi is more than just a building. It’s a testament to faith and community. Located in Burari it’s a place of spiritual renewal. It opened its doors in 1996. Mr Cyril John a chairman saw a vision confirming the centre’s creation. The Delhi Crusaders then prayed for this intention.
The ashram offers retreats. They begin with the joyous message of forgiveness and salvation. Retreatants experience salvation through repentance. This is a key message preached by Jesus Christ. “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand”.
During confession retreatants feel convicted of their sins. Their sins are forgiven through the Holy Spirit. This happens through the Church’s ministry. People experience a radical conversion. This leads to self-surrender and union with Jesus. “He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him”.
The love of God fills their hearts. This love heals wounds and soothes strained family relationships. Marriages are renewed. This is seen as a sacrament of grace within the spousal relationship of Christ and His Church.
Healing is a significant aspect of the retreat. It’s not just physical healing. It’s about God’s love mending brokenness. Priests lead through preaching and sacraments. Lay leaders offer counselling and service. Everything blends under the priests’ sacramental authority.
Retreats conclude with renewed baptismal vows. There’s a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit. This is a fulfillment of Jesus’ promise. “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be my witnesses to the ends of the earth”. This empowerment helps resist temptation and spread faith.
The Jeevan Jyoti Ashram offers a powerful experience. The seven sacraments are experienced anew. This is all for the renewal of Christian commitment. It’s a Catholic retreat center.
