Now imagine. A time long past. A time when Jalan Sultan Sulaiman was not a bustling thoroughfare. When it was Suleiman Road. Plans for a magnificent palace stood on a hill behind the road. Sultan Abdul Samad’s grandson Raja Muda Sulaiman oversaw this ambitious project. The palace was intended to be near the British Resident’s quarters. The sultan however preferred his palace in Jugra. He resisted the move. The palace was never built. Raja Muda Sulaiman later became sultan. He built a palace in Klang.
