In 1998, a dream blossomed into reality. The International Islamic School Malaysia (IISM) opened its doors, nestled near the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Muslim scholars from around the globe envisioned a place where young minds could thrive, nurtured by a balanced blend of modern and Islamic teachings. The International Islamic School Malaysia started with just 30 students. Today, it’s a vibrant community of approximately 1,500 students, from primary school through A-Levels. The International Islamic School Malaysia is more than just classrooms and textbooks. It’s a testament to the vision of Dato Dr Abdul Hamid Abu Sulayman, the former Rector of IIUM. He sparked the idea in the mid-1990s, desiring a model Islamic school that offered a holistic education. The International Islamic School Malaysia’s motto, “Accommodating differences, creating excellence,” reflects its commitment to diversity and high academic standards. The school embraces students from all corners of the world. This rich tapestry of cultures enriches the learning experience, fostering understanding and appreciation for different perspectives. IISM even encourages language learning. The International Islamic School Malaysia offers a Cambridge International curriculum. This internationally recognized program sets students on a path to success. The school’s academic achievements have earned it recognition from the Malaysian government as a top preparatory studies center. Since 2012, the Public Service Department (JPA) has sponsored students to attend IISM, a testament to its consistent excellence. Beyond academics, the International Islamic School Malaysia cultivates a dynamic learning environment.
