Welcome to the International Community School a vibrant hub of learning nestled in Bangkok’s Bangna district. Established in 1993 this non-profit Christian school offers an American-style education. It’s a journey that began modestly. Expatriate families initially formed a cooperative. They wanted a biblical worldview education for their children. This cooperative lasted twelve years educating children from first to sixth grade.
In 1990 the dream expanded. The Network of International Christian Schools joined forces with those families. Together they sought to establish a K-12 school. They secured a site. The name International Community School was born. The school opened in 1993. It welcomed 120 students. The school expanded quickly. It added a grade each year until it offered a full K-12 program. Its first graduating class celebrated in 1998.
The International Community School received accreditation. It gained recognition from two US-based agencies. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) awarded this prestigious accreditation. Growth continued. The school outgrew its initial location. A new chapter began in 2004. The International Community School moved to its current campus in Bang Na. The campus sits on 16.2 rai of land.
This relocation brought significant expansion. The school now boasts a large and thriving community. It opened with nearly 500 students. Today it’s home to over 1100 students. The majority of teachers come from the United States and Canada. The school’s commitment to quality shines through its high average SAT scores. Students are accepted into top universities worldwide. Community service is a vital part of the curriculum. Students dedicate 40 hours annually to personal community service. They also participate in SALT trips. These trips further immerse students in community engagement.
