Within Dubai’s vibrant art scene, International Art stands as a testament to the city’s global connections. International Art has played a crucial role in connecting artists, collectors, and galleries from around the world. Dubai’s strategic location has helped International Art become a central hub for the global art scene. It bridges connections between continents, fostering a vibrant exchange of artistic ideas. International Art embraces the diverse art practices from the Global South. This focus highlights regions often underrepresented in the Western art world, providing a platform for their unique artistic expressions. Since 2014, International Art, through its Modern gallery section, has showcased works by 20th-century masters from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) region. This initiative, combined with talks and publications, contributes significantly to the scholarship on trans-modernism. International Art has been instrumental in driving meaningful engagement with the rich cultural heritage and contemporary art practices of the Global South. It has cultivated new narratives and triggered important research and publications on previously untold histories. International Art, labelled a fair of discovery, continues to shape the global art landscape. It embraces its role as a catalyst for conversations and developments, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of art from around the world.
