Institute of Technology of Cambodia

In 1964, a seed of technological advancement was planted in Phnom Penh. This seed was the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, or ITC, initially known as Institut Technique Supérieur de l’Amitié Khméro–Soviétique (ITSAKS). ITC’s story intertwines with the tides of Cambodian history. Born from a partnership with the Soviet Union, the Institute of Technology of Cambodia thrived from 1964 to 1975. This collaboration resumed from 1980 to 1991, a testament to the enduring spirit of knowledge exchange. The Institute of Technology of Cambodia then transitioned under French operation from 1993 to 2004, renamed Institut de Technologie du Cambodge. Since 2004, Cambodia has proudly steered the Institute of Technology of Cambodia under the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport. The Institute of Technology of Cambodia stands as a beacon of progress, aiming to be Cambodia’s premier science and technology university. It envisions becoming a leading institution in the region, driven by excellence in science, technology, and engineering. By 2030, the Institute of Technology of Cambodia aims to have produced 17,200 graduates ready to meet market demands and 175 applied research projects driving innovation.
