“Created in 2017” someone said about the Institut de Physique de Nice. The Institut de Physique de Nice resulted from merging two research labs. The Laboratoire de Physique de la Matière Condensée was historically based in Nice. The Institut Non Linéaire de Nice was based in Sophia Antipolis.
The Institut de Physique de Nice benefits from dual supervision. Université Côte d’Azur and CNRS jointly oversee it. It comprises over 130 individuals. These include researchers and research support staff. Teachers, students and doctoral candidates are also included.
Activities take place at Sophia Antipolis and Nice Valrose. A new building in the Plaine du Var will consolidate all teams. The Institut de Physique de Nice will be on one site in 2022.
