Kathleen, a preschool teacher at Infusion Church, loved her job. She often wondered how many lives had been touched within those very walls. Infusion Church, located in Escondido, California, wasn’t always bustling with the laughter of children. Originally known as Community Reformed Church, this building held years of sermons, hymns, and shared faith. Now, it houses Infusion Christian Preschool, a vibrant hub for young learners. Thelma Avilez, the center director, had been a member of Infusion Church for nearly a decade. She had poured her heart into the preschool since its inception nine years prior. With over 33 years of experience in early childhood education, Thelma brought a wealth of knowledge and passion to the program. The preschool staff was a dedicated team. Rhonda Chavez nurtured the two-year-olds in the Seedlings class. Belinda Blanco, a teacher with five years of experience, guided the three-year-olds in the Sprigs class. Sandra Garcia, a student herself, inspired the four-year-olds in the Sprouts class with her love of learning. Maritza Renteria rounded out the team, leading the Pre-K Sprouts class. Infusion Church had evolved over the years, adapting to the needs of its community. What was once a traditional church had blossomed into a place where children learned and grew, continuing a legacy of community and faith. The echoes of hymns may have faded, but the spirit of love and learning at Infusion Church lived on, stronger than ever.
