Is Incirano just another name on the map? Far from it. Incirano is actually one of five distinct areas that came together to form the town of Paderno Dugnano. Before Italy’s unification, Incirano stood as its own entity. In 1869, it was merged with Paderno, Dugnano, Palazzolo Milanese, and Cassina Amata. This union wasn’t without hiccups. Palazzolo Milanese, unhappy with Paderno as the leading town, tried to break away. Their petition to the Minister of the Interior was dismissed. Palazzolo simply lacked the population to be independent. Finally, in 1886, a royal decree christened this newly merged entity Paderno Dugnano. Incirano, once a standalone village, became part of this larger whole.
